John B. O’Sullivan, is the curator of Field Operations at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, overseeing the live animal collections and most of Husbandry’s research and development programs. From its conception in 2002 John has managed the White Shark research and exhibit program. Other areas of John’s research include movements, distribution and husbandry requirements of large elasmobranch fishes of Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; distribution, basic biology and natural history of mobulid rays in the water surrounding Baja California and movements of Molas in the Monterey Bay region. John will share some of his unique experiences in studying and collecting marine animals for the aquarium’s research programs and what lies ahead in the future.

Photo Contest: All MPUP members who have paid their $15 dues for 2010 are eligible to submit their favorite underwater image which will be judged by those attending the banquet during the cocktail hour.
